SMS Messaging & Consent

Last updated July 5, 2026

Care Partner AI sends medication-reminder and care-coordination text messages (SMS) to a care recipient's mobile number so families can confirm doses were taken. This page describes exactly how someone opts in, what messages we send, and how to stop — our complete messaging program and call-to-action.

How opt-in works

Care Partner is used by a caregiver on behalf of a care recipient(for example, an adult child managing an aging parent's medications). There is no public bulk sign-up; each number is enrolled individually, with consent, through these steps:

  • A caregiver creates an account and, in the app, adds a care recipient's mobile number.
  • To add the number, the caregiver must check a consent box that is unchecked by default, confirming the care recipient has agreed to receive these text messages. The number cannot be added until this box is checked.
  • We send a one-time verification code to that number. The number only begins receiving reminders after the code is entered — confirming the number is correct and reachable.
  • Reminders then follow the medication schedule the caregiver sets up. The recipient can stop at any time by replying STOP.

The consent language shown at opt-in

The consent checkbox in the add-a-number step reads exactly as follows (this box is not pre-checked; the caregiver must actively check it):

I confirm this person has agreed to receive automated medication-reminder and care-coordination text messages from Care Partner AI at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

What messages we send

  • Medication reminders (e.g., “Time for Metformin. Reply: 1 Taken, 2 Missed, 3 Snooze.”)
  • Nudges when a dose hasn't been confirmed
  • Confirmations acknowledging a reply
  • A one-time verification code when a number is first enrolled

Sample message: “Time for Metformin. Reply: 1 Taken, 2 Missed, 3 Snooze.”

Frequency, rates, and how to stop

  • Message frequency varies based on the medication schedules the caregiver sets (typically a few messages per day per care recipient).
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. You can also ask your caregiver to remove your number.
